News?

In today's news: There is no news.

I spent every day of this weekend in the pool and did some exercises. So so far I have been able to stick to my one hour of exercise per day. I feel very happy with myself.

Otherwise, I haven't really been able to edit/rewrite or anything like that due to our guests. My mom's old friend and my other grandmother both came for a visit. And of course, to people not versed in the writing lifestyle, it is considered the utmost rudeness to do something like reading my own work...

Sigh. Otherwise, my life is also a bit busy at this stage, so my posts for the next few weeks will be a little irregular.

Oh wait! I lied. I have gone to my university to find out about my registration. After all that drama they caused, I will be able to register without any trouble this year. But at least I am no longer worried about that.

What's news on your end?

  1. Hi Misha,

You did have some news - you will be able to register. Yay!

I can totally sympathise with you on the visiting relations and lack of writing time. When my niece lived with us for six months in 2009 both my reading and writing virtually ground to a halt. She couldn't understand that I needed time alone. Having said that, it's far worse with visitors. Like you say, you don't want to appear rude.

Hope you find more time this week!

  2. Got out to the eye doctor for a new prescription, now just waiting on the glasses. That'll be awesome. It's hard to read and write assiduously after a work day that strains the life out of my eyes.

Spent much of the weekend copy-editing a friend's manuscript that's about to hit press.

Didn't work too much on my own stuff, except in my mind, but I work a lot through pre-writing mentally so that counts as writing for me, even though it's not quite readable in that form.

Got some healthier foods in the house. Planned to exercise, ran out of time. Need to figure that one out still.

  3. I'm always amazed by the stories of writers who write in the midst of noise and people. I need quiet, so I commiserate.

  5. Good for you for exercising. I'm sure you'll get back to writing when your company leaves.

I need to start exercising again - I'm getting soft.

  10. Misha, I feel your pain on the writing front. I took December off, to ponder my wip and new revisions, but here we are in double January digits and I'm still bogged down in stuff. Next week is our week--I can feel it!

  11. I guess you are relieved about not having to be concerned about your university situation. For me, I'm home from my trip and just trying to get caught back up. No real news here, and as they say, "no news is good news", but I'd like to get some real news that really is good news.

  12. It's wonderful that you can swim everyday. That's a great exercise program. And no problems with school registration, excellent.

I'm in the middle of my blog book tour. I'd love it if you found the time to drop in. There are prizes.
