This year, I'm sharing snippets from my upcoming book, Endless.
In this scene, Aleria (as a child) is being hunted by immortals wanting her life force, but she's not going down without a fight.

About the Book
“First, do no harm.” Blake Ryan swore
that oath to become a doctor. Ironic, given that he spent most of his thousand
year life sucking souls out of other immortals.
Things are different now. Using regular shots of morphine to keep his inner monster at bay, Ryan has led a quiet life since the Second World War. His thrills now come from saving lives, not taking them.
Until a plane crash brings Aleria into his hospital. Her life is vibrant. Crack to predators like him. She’s the exact sort of person they would hunt, and thanks to a severe case of amnesia, she’s all but defenseless.
Leaving Aleria vulnerable isn’t an option, but protecting her means unleashing his own inner monster. Which is a problem, because his inner monster wants her dead most of all.

Swallow that funky blood, Aleria and gain new powers!
ReplyDeleteLoved the snippet. I'll be back for more ENDLESS goodies throughout the month! I do like how you incorporated the release with this year's A-to-Z. :)
Did she swallow any? Oh, I wonder, but how could she not. It gets in between the teeth. Yuck, but I don't think it's the gross factor she has to worry about. LOL Great excerpt!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw "bite" in the title on my Bloglovin' feed, I knew it was going to be a good one and it was!

ReplyDeleteHoly shit! Like Deadpool said in his movie "..don't swallow." Spit it out girl!
ReplyDeleteSounds like he has a problem... And so does she! Will be looking forward to more tidbits; great characterizations here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit over at Life In Dogs yesterday, and for the lovely comment. Such a treat to be part of D's Company with you this year, Misha!
Some how I sense a little swallow is not a good thing.
ReplyDeleteThat image is Spectacular! And great snippet. I love the premise!
ReplyDeleteDoes she actually bite people, or does she have bite, meaning she's tough?
ReplyDeleteSounds like an interesting story!
I'm not generally a fan of vampire stories - but that blurb could make me change my mind! Best of luck with it!

ReplyDeleteGoing from dark to light is quite a leap.
ReplyDeleteI love that blurb!! It has the exact inherent conflict that sucks people in to stories (and that is harder than it looks to come up with). Wishing you an awesome A-Z and an even more awesome book release! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued, your book sounds right up my street :)
