So without further ado, my soon-to-be released title is:
The War of Six Crowns: The Vanished Knight
And the winner, picked by random.org is:
S.P. Bowers!
Congrats! And thank you to all who played along.
Okay. So... Today is Update Day for the Big Dreams Bloghop, which means I get to regale all who are interested with stories of my progress.
Here's what I did in August:
- Finished the rough draft to book three in The War of Six Crowns series.
- Saw a graphic designer who'll be helping me create a brand and image for said series.
- Finished the content and structural edits to The Vanished Knight. We are officially in copy edits, people.
- Wrote half of Birds vs Bastards.
I'm still waiting on the ITIN, which is putting a serious wrinkle in my plans. The reason for this is that without that number, I can't publish. So I'm really sitting on needles in the mean time. Without the ITIN, I don't have a fixed publishing date. And without a fixed publishing date, I can't arrange for blog tours and the like. Sigh.
Because the ITIN puts things out of my control at the moment, I won't be setting any fixed goals with regards to The Vanished Knight. Besides, the edits will be done when the edits are done. In the mean time, I'm eagerly awaiting the production of my first ever book cover.
The main goal I have for September is to finish the Birds vs Bastards rewrite. As soon as that's done, I'll have to clear my head and get back into draft mode. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish one more rough draft by mid-October. But I'll probably end up drafting right through November as well...
Depending, of course, on whether or not I'm publishing during that time. Hm.
But yep, that's pretty much where I am at the moment.
How are you doing on your big goals? If you haven't signed up, please do. No dreams are too insane, too big or too small.
You are really busy! I wish I could devote so much time to writing, but alas I must pay the bills somehow until I "make it," thus my day job.
ReplyDeleteI joined the five year project, though, with the goal of publishing a book a year. Even with the job, if I spend two months a year super-dedicated (and the rest of the time slowly chipping away), I tend to take one year per book.
Thanks for joining, Laura! I hope you'll find the goal good motivation. :-)
DeleteYay! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWow, you have been super busy. August for me has been revisions mixed in with sick children (at which point I don't get much writing done). Here's to a stupendous September!
Revisions and tending to family must happen too. Hope you get some writing done this month. ;-)
DeleteI want to sign up to this, but my oh my, it scares. I am so in awe of you Misha. Oh for that clarity of thought to be able to do so much at the same time. I've been even worse lately (DOcs are looking into it) so my second book is developing cobwebs. :( I'll get there though. Perhaps signing up will propel me on? Well done on all you're doing Misha. Marvellous.

Brave of you to sign on. And thanks again for the buttons!
DeleteThings are going very well for me! I'm making more strides to my own goal, of being able to make a living from my writing, and confirmed both a cover designer and a professional editor for my self-publishing venture.
ReplyDeleteThat must be exciting! Hope everything goes smoothly for you. Best of luck with reading your goal!
DeleteAre you self publishing The Vanished Knight?
ReplyDeleteNope. I'm publishing through Etopia press.
DeleteYour productivity puts me to shame *hangs head* Congrats on all your progress!
ReplyDeleteThanks. :-) For what it's worth, deep down I'm a lazy person.
DeleteCongratulations SP!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what an ITIN number is, but I hope you get it soon.
Individual Tax Identity Number. I need it to fill in another form to gain exemption from paying taxes on my royalties in two countries.
DeleteCongrats to SP! And I love the series and title name.
ReplyDeleteGood luck getting the ITIN soon!
Very cool title. I like! Can't wait to see what kind of cover they come up with. :)
ReplyDeleteMe neither. I'm so nervous about seeing it. :-D
DeleteGreat title.
ReplyDeleteI hope the government doesn't hold up your number too long.
Yeah I hope so too. *crosses fingers*
DeleteYour ability to produce so much amazes me. You go, girl!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I surprised myself when I started listing what I did. ;-)
DeleteWell done on all your hard work, love the new name.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteCongratulations SP.
ReplyDeleteMisha, the new title sounds great. It has an epic sound to it.
That epic sound is actually a big reason why I changed the name.
DeleteDoorways just felt misleading now.
I forgot to post mine today. I'll post something on Monday. Congrats on all you've achieved and the title is very good.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know. I'll check it out. :-)
DeleteI hope you're having better luck with copy edits than I am. It's thrillig that you have a designer who's going to create your brand and covers and answer only to you. You'll get exactly what you want. Congrats on the title! :-)
ReplyDeleteSadly, the covers are pretty much completely out of control. Which is what makes me so nervous.
DeleteI mean, yeah, the publishing house should use people who know what they're doing to design their covers, and I'm sure they do. But not knowing what they're doing absolutely kills me!
Absolutely awesome title! Good luck with your edits. It's my least favorite part of the writing process. Have a lovely long weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Glad you like it.
DeleteHi Misha! I like the new title a lot! I'm where you're at, I think. Trying to pub by November and there's so much to do. O_o
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it! Best of luck with publishing in time. :-)
DeleteThe Vanished Knight conjures up some "now you see him, now you don't" imagery. Great title!
ReplyDeleteI also think you've chosen an excellent title! It's amazing how much you've accomplished, and I wish you continued success.
ReplyDeleteJulie
Thanks Julie!
DeleteI like the mysterious title -- keep on keepin' on!
ReplyDeleteYes sir! ;-)
DeleteHahahaha I actually get six to eight hours of sleep in per night. Wouldn't be able to function otherwise.
ReplyDeleteWow, you have been busy. I'm waiting for my publisher to dream up my new title. I had to fill in a three page form for it. You just watch. They'll end up picking one of the title choices I listed. lol
ReplyDeleteHahaha hope you like whatever name they decide on in the end. :-)
DeleteWell done on all you accomplished during August! I so need to get my own act together quick smart. ;) At least I have one work currently being critiqued, even if only a chapter at a time. :)
ReplyDeleteLook at it this way. At least you have something someone can crit. I don't. :-)
