My biggest insecurity this month comes from the sheer bloody amount of stuff going on in my life at the moment. I have a book coming out. I have to prepare to move house. I have to work longer than usual because it's the busy season for me at the dayjob. I have to... I have to... I have to...
You get it. And as some of you know, I keep track of all this. So I happen to know that I have 30 major items for me to finish in this week alone.
I mean seriously. What happened to starting slow in January and working one's way up? I'm seriously hoping that my year ends up working in reverse, or I might end up going crazy by June.
How are you doing? Is your year running mad like mine? How are you keeping yourself together?
I honestly don't know how you're keeping going at the moment. But if I know one thing about you, it's that you have an amazing and admirable amount of resilience. You always strike back, no matter what life throws at you. Hoping things calm down a little for you, but keep doing what you do, and you'll get through on top. You're such a champion!
ReplyDeleteI know you will get it all done. You are awesome like that. You definitely don't like slow and boring:) Good-luck!
ReplyDeleteWell, even if you only hit twenty-eight, that's still really impressive. Just deep breaths and keep moving forward.
ReplyDeleteSounds like your February is starting out like my January. I didn't get much of my own writing done because I was slammed with freelance writing and editsa. Things are just calming down now.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteMy January was very busy also. I didn't need to jump start it this year.
All the best.
Shalom,
Patricia
Yeah. I don't know how you do it all. It's impressive. Hang in there—you're going to do great.
ReplyDeleteHang in there, Misha.
ReplyDeleteI recently reached the 'up-to-here' limit and so I'm kind of taking this week off. It's been nice. :)
ReplyDeleteYou'll make it through. You're incredibly organized. Chocolate keeps me together!
ReplyDeleteAnd just like that the year's off with a run. Have a good month and best wishes with your goals.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a book I am writing at the moment but... I have not even had a moment to write a blog post... life is extremely busy, I am taking some time tonight regardless of what is going on ...
ReplyDeleteI hope things settle down a bit for you soon xox
You are a busy woman, yet you manage to stay on top of it all. That is amazing. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI'm lucky. I'm still in control (sort of) at the moment. I'm glad you have the energy to accomplish all that's going on. I would have withered by now. Keep smiling and shouting :) We'll hear you. Sending you a Powerbar across the ether.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have a lot going on. Good luck with everything! And when you start to feel overwhelmed, take a deep breath and have a piece of chocolate. ;)
ReplyDeleteIf anyone can handle all of this at once, it's you. Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty tapped out too. Mother is 87 and her health is declining. Dad just had narrow brush with sepsis and is still trying to regain strength. Working on a huge project and writing a workbook that needs the Diocese's Imprimatur (researching, writing, editing, dodging bullets and timelines from co-collaborator). Also babysitting for 19 month old great-granddaughter and still writing my own book.
ReplyDeleteFrankly, I have to pencil in "peeing"! My cup runneth over and spilleth with abandon!
Thirty? And I thought I was busy. Actually I am. I am working on putting together a small writer retreat and just want it to be the best. I've never done this before, plus I'm still working on my W.I.P., upgrading the home. Living in the tropics takes its toll on everything from paint to shower heads. And...I signed up for this blog hop.
ReplyDeleteI just found out at the weekend that I'm being evicted, so I'll have to move house soon, too. I average about 50 hours a week at work, so I know how you feel! I'm not looking forward to moving house, it's always such a big thing. Good luck getting all your stuff done.
ReplyDeleteI genuinely don't know hoe you fit everything in - I'm constantly in awe of you and your organisational skills! This year, I have to do up the house to rent it out, move house, get a new job and plan a wedding, as well as trying to keep up with my writing, blog, update on social media, and potentially setting up my new YouTube project too! I think 2016 is going to be interesting!

Lots of stuff on your plate! You'll make it through. It definitely won't be a boring month! Good luck with it all!
ReplyDeleteCut those 30 items into bit size pieces. Make your top five then move down from there. I made a list of must complete wips and it has given me better focus and I know what is essential now and what I also would like to do for inspiration and alternatives.
ReplyDeleteStarting slow?? What is THAT?? Hahaha. You'll get through it girl!
ReplyDeleteI didn't even get much of a break over Christmas. I hit 2016 running and I still can't catch up.
ReplyDeleteIt's running a bit made with unexpected stuff . . . life stuff, family stuff, unexpected wisdom teeth removal from both of my kids in two weeks kind of stuff. I'm hoping that some of the unexpected stuff slows down, so I can do the writing and work I planned to do.
ReplyDeleteHappy writing!
One step at a time and prioritize. Busy will keep your mind off other things. It'll get done. WhY? Cause you're amazing :)
ReplyDeleteAAAaaarrrgh sounds about right. Hope you get through the most important stuff.
ReplyDeleteHi human, Misha,
ReplyDeleteAha, "(AAAAAaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrghhhhhh!)", is an utterance my alleged human, Gary, makes quite a lot. Although, it usually relates to that idiotic A to Z thingy!
But do you have to? There are times that humans need to just realise that a human can take on too much, all at once.
I keep myself together by looking after both my humans.
Thank you for being part of IWSG" aka "I Was Seeking Gary." Yes, I have to humour him!
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses,
Penny xx
My year thus far has been rough. Too much to tell, but it feels mighty bumpy so far.
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm busy busy too, and not at all with writing, which I much prefer to be busy with. I need a vvacation from my life, lol.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely scrambling out of the gate, but I hope that just translates into a productive year. We will see.
ReplyDeleteGood luck getting things done.
ReplyDeleteMisha, you'll manage those 30 major tasks/items. If anybody can, you can.
ReplyDeleteUnder pressure, you rise to the occasion.
Hang in there!
Wow. And I thought I had it bad with all the things I need to get done. I don't envy you with the move. That's a trial of its own. The only way I accomplish anything is with a to-do list. I'd be lost without it. One thing at a time, just keep checking those things off. You'll get there. Hang in there!
